Fred Willard has been fired as the host of PBS' new competition series "Market Warriors" after being arrested for lewd conduct at a Hollywood adult theater, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
A PBS spokesperson told THR that the 72-year-old actor will no longer host "Market Warriors," which launched Monday as a spinoff of the long-running "Antiques Roadshow."
"Given the unfortunate news reported today, effective immediately, Fred Willard no longer will be involved with the Market Warriors series," a spokesperson said, noting they will record new narration for the episodes that have already been shot. TMZ obtained an email PBS sent to its affiliates, telling them not to air any of the already completed episodes featuring Willard.
ABC, however, is keeping Willard as host of "Trust Us With Your Life," according to RumorFix.com. An ABC production source told the site that the series -- an improvisational comedy show featuring celebrities that premiered earlier this summer -- has already been taped and will air as planned.
Willard was caught with his pants down in a movie theater Wednesday evening. The frequent Christopher Guest-movie actor was allegedly spotted with his "penis exposed and in his hand." He was arrested, but released soon thereafter.
On Thursday, Willard's lawyer told TMZ that the "Anchorman" actor did not violate any laws inside of the theater and that he "will be working vigorously to clear his name in this matter."
